Bumpboards

In France, it is estimated that there are over 500,000 speed bumps across the country. However, 75% of them do not comply or no longer comply with current safety standards and are therefore illegal today.

Unfortunately, due to budget constraints, small rural municipalities struggle to replace them, despite the risks they pose to road users.

Faced with this challenge, Citroën has devised an innovative approach: transforming the budget of our advertising spaces into a source of funding to renew these essential elements for road safety.

"FOR US, IN SMALL TOWNS, THIS INITIATIVE IS MORE THAN WELCOME. OUR BUDGETS ARE REALLY LIMITED, AND THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING MORE URGENT TO REPAIR THAN A SPEED BUMP."

Bertrand Barraud - Mayor Issoire

Rather than investing our budget in roadside billboards, we preferred to invest the same amount so that motorists drive over it. The principle: replacing non-compliant speed bumps with standard-compliant ones in the brand’s colors.
This initiative allows for the replacement of non-compliant speed bumps, relieves the budget of small municipalities, and significantly improves road safety for vehicle drivers as well as pedestrians.

"EACH NEW LEGAL SPEED BUMP NOT ONLY MAKES ROADS SAFER, BUT ALSO PROMOTES CITROËN’S COMMITMENT TO SAFETY AND INNOVATION FOR ALL."

Thierry Koskas - CEO of Citroën

Each new legal speed bump not only makes roads safer but also promotes Citroën’s commitment to safety and innovation for all.
